It's going to be my first time trying out the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment and I was excited yet nervous at the same. Thanks to Estee Clinic that I had the opportunity to try out this treatment. As usual, before I undergo any treatment, I would do some research about the treatment and what are the benefits I would get from the treatment. However, it turned out to be quite promising and I was looking forward to it in fact. *wide grin*
I had an appointment with the doctor at 10 am and Karen, the nurse, told me that I had to apply the numbing cream on my face before PRP treatment. Karen also mentioned that the we had to leave the numbing cream for at least an hour before PRP treatment was done. Cling wrap was then placed on the face with the numbing cream.

Dr Pang from Estee Clinic is so kind and friendly. I asked a lot of questions and most of the time, he was patiently answering all my useless questions. However I was glad that I was able to learn / know something about this PRP treatment.
Shortly after I was told to lie down on the bed and Dr started to bring out a syringe to retrieve some blood out from my body. I think it's not huge so I was fine when I look at the syringe. LOL. Except that I was worried / nervous about the pain on that particular moment where Dr injected the needle of the syringe on my arm.
After a blood sample is obtained from a patient, the blood is then placed into a centrifuge, which is a tool that separates the blood into its many components. Platelet rich plasma can then be collected and treated before it is delivered to an injured area of bone or soft tissue, such as a tendon or ligament.
Dr Pang started off with laser treatment on my skin before PRP treatment. Laser treatment will create an open wound. Laying a coating of this over an open wound will rapidly induce healing of the wound, reducing time to clear.

For your information, PRP is produced from a person's own blood. It is a concentration of one type of cell, known as platelets, which circulate through the blood and are critical for blood clotting. Platelets and the liquid plasma portion of the blood contain many factors that are essential for the cell recruitment, multiplication and specialization that are required for healing.

PRP is given to patients through an injection. Before PRP treatment, Dr Pang briefly explained to me the procedure he was going to do on face.

After the wound, Dr Pang started to inject the platelets into my face. The platelets are injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin. Platelets gradually increase collagen which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin.
Subjectively, the results are promising. After the laser treatment, wound healing usually occurs at 6 to 7 days depending on the laser settings. With the single post-laser PRP treatment, recovery appears to proceed more rapidly.
Do take note that there will some short-lasting pinkness or redness on the skin following the injection. Bruising is also possible as the needle is used to place the PRP into the skin. This may take a week or so to subside.

Miss Karen put on the cooling mask so that the redness and swell on my face would subside slowly.

Surprisingly after a day, the red marks have subsided. PRP somehow reduced healing time by 1 day after laser treatment of the face. Since I am those type of people who are aware of my own skin texture and structure, I noticed some changes within a few days. Large pores are reduced and skin is getting firmer than before. Yay! :D
But bear in mind that dark eyes circle is still the same as PRP is not injected near the eye area. You can see that there are still some redness on the forehead and eyebrow area but not too worry as it can be covered with concealer . *wide grin*

Overall, I am satisfied with the service and treatment. First of all, the nurses and doctor himself are friendly. They always ensure that I feel comfortable while doing the treatment and they constantly keep asking me whether I feel painful about the treatment. PRP treatment can be painful at times when they injected the mixture of blood and hyaluronic acid into my face, they were trying to distract my attention on the pain by telling me a lot of stories and share with me some of their personal interests / hobbies.
